![]() Naz was a bit of an odd fellow. A highschool friend of our then-guitarist Steve Moore, Naz came out to a few of Steve's first couple of shows with us. With wiry hair and an almost constant hyperactivity to his demeanor, he was not immediately embraced by the 1997 lineup at the time. After he began to hang around our rehearsal space, he'd always ask to toy around with our guitars and keyboards after we had finished our run throughs. While an average guitarist, the keyboards was where he truly shined. I took note of this and had a higher respect for our strange new friend. When I left Zadoc: Vampire Theatre in December of 1997 and put together my next project The Seventh Sin, I remembered our strange new friend and invited him along after we had played a few shows. Unfortunately for him, we disbanded only a month later. With Steve Moore out of the picture for our resurrection of Zadoc: Vampire Theatre, little was seen of Naz until Steve was rehired. Once things started to settle down we once again invited Naz along. Like Steve Moore, tensions had arisen between Naz and our then theatrics man, Dan Gober. Shortly afterward the same tensions started to arise in other bandmates; most notably our newly hired guitarist, Monster. In addition, although he was a great keyboardist, his heart was into being a guitarist, singer, and frontman. Upon composing a song that he attempted to submit to the band, he insisted on performing it on guitar and assuming the vocal duties. Unfortunately, the rest of the band, myself included didn't think he was up to par to pull it off. With his temper getting slightly out of control, Dan threatened to leave the project if Naz was to still be involved. Lacking the courage to fire Naz himself, due to Naz's temper and his already antagonistic disposition, Russell Pope volunteered to do it for us, and to this date, I have neither seen or have spoken to Naz since then. |
